Just ANOTHER day at Wal Mart!

So - Steve texted me yesterday & said I needed to fax his immunization records to the store ASAP! I called him & said I didn't have that info. & what is going on in the store NOW!!!?!
WELL - another Wal Mart story! Are you ready! Some sicko person that has the measles came into the Wal Mart & used the telephone in the store. NOW over 250 associates that were working the two day period around when the sick person came into the store have to prove they were immunized or get a titer done (blood work to see if they are immune to measles) Steve was sick with the measles when he was young.
Soooooo, Steve is currently HOME (the store is knee deep in the remodel!) installing faucets in the kitchen & bathrooms. This afternoon he is going to start replacing all the door knobs in the house. I am so happy - Steve cannot go back to work until his test results come back. The State of UT, Gayla, & Steve have no records of Steve's immunizations. Gayla said that Steve's pediatrician is probably DEAD!
My honey-do list is a mile long!

I love days where the monotony (not that Steve's days are boring - EVER!) at work is messed up - in a good way that is!
Not good - for all the workers & shoppers that were exposed to the measles :( - but nice for a wife that is desperate for a few minutes of time with her husband :) ! LOVE IT!!!
Congrats to Trent for his 5th grade graduation! Another fantastic school year !!!

Trent's friend Colton, Trent & his proud papa! Great job!
My friend Amy & I went to Wenachtee Wednesday! Shopped & ate lunch - missed you DEB!! My Fav. part of the day (besides the fun day of talking non-stop, shopping & eating!) - was the cute table & chairs I got at Pier 1. I have been looking around forever for a cute table & chairs for the back porch. The best part - it was all on clearance - plus 10% off! Not all of you will understand this addiction, but Amy & I were hyperventilating with the savings & good deal! Amy - I will go with you to Ross any day - anytime! Lisa

The Evans' are still here and still haven't downloaded any pictures!!! My life has been insane. The end of school was pretty busy. We had some down time this past week, but come Tuesday its all starting!! Tuesday Brady will be 12 and we will be driving down to Cedar City. Brady and a friend will be playing as guest players on a soccer team in the Utah Summer Games. We are really excited to go our friend Curt and Christie live there and we're going to stay there. Chuck and I have to leave early on Friday, because we are going to be a Ma and Pa on the Pioneer Trek and we have our practice Trek to do and then on Father's Day Brady will be ordained a Deacon and then on Wednesday we are leaving for Twin Falls and Sun Valley and then the Tuesday after that we have our "Hoedown" and then on Thursday morning we head to the hills to play pioneers! Courtney will be going on the Trek so I should have some awesome pictures of her in her bonnet!

Miles is going to try football this year, so he can lay low until August. Courtney has a Lagoon Pass and that keeps her busy. She and Kelcey should have a texting contest!!!!! I actually looked at how many texts she sent and received. 3400 for one and 3500 for the other 7000 texts! Thank Heavens for unlimited texting! She's definately enjoying her teenage years!

Tate just follows his brothers around and does whatever they do. He and Owen just finished t-ball. So that's June in a nutshell. Basically we'll be on the road.

How could I forget Kelcey?

Kelcey is one busy bee! She has been finishing up school projects, deciding on her senior project, selling pizza coupons (fundraisers), working, soccer, Young Woman YCL, hanging with friends, etc. etc. etc.
She was at a graduation party last night for her friend, Kailani.
She broke up with Rhoan, but now Bobby wants to get back together (she told him no - whew!)!

She told me I was wrong about stuff on Fri. and I told her I will always be right! She is texting everyone every minute of every day! She is soooo excited to go to college in a year! She told me on Wed. (the last day of school) she will officially be a senior!
She is adorable, beautiful, kind, loving, helpful, & everyone LOVES Kelcey!
We love Kelcey & are so proud of her!
I was reading an article about Steven Curtis Chapman. He is a famous religous singer & songwriter. He has three of his own children & then he adopted three Chinese little girls. The youngest adopted daughter was accidentally killed by his teenage son - backing out of the driveway in his SUV. It was such a sad story. Mr. Chapman has written a song dedicating it to his daughter. I put it in the playlist - it is called Cinderella (near the bottom of the playlist). It is such a beautiful song & I get very emotional about our beautiful Kelcey when I listen to it!
We love you & are so proud of you - Kelcey!

Boys school work, June 2008

Had to show you this picture!!! It was at the golf course, I was laughing my head off - love the fake security camera's!!

Good thing we are not TRAVELING a lot this summer!!!
One of Trent's final projects. His amazing volcano! The girls helped him make homemade playdough & after that he did all the work molding & creating his volcano. Great job Trent!
Different angle.
Trent's class trip to the movie, "The Chronicles of Narnia, Prince Caspian." Trent & his nutty friend Adam.

Here are some of Trent's final projects - he took all these pictures to post. He did amazing & his teacher adores him. Great job Trent! We are so proud of you

Way to Go!
Here are some pictures of Trevor & his portfolio. His work is so much fun to look at.
Look at that broken arm! He was so proud of his cast.
Good JOB Trevor on another great year of school.
This is from Jacy's yearbook - in the first sentence her friend wrote that she always chooses the right - she is not LDS but has noticed Jacy's ring & made an adorable poem about it! Jacy is such a good example to her friends (they have to pay her a quarter each time they swear in front of her!). It is amazing how much my kids influence their friends.
This was the school Surf N Slide day - it was freezing! The boys were in sweatshirts the whole time! They loved it though!

The kids are still in school until next Wed. Today they have a barbecue for parents and an art day. On Monday is Trent's graduation from 5th grade - YES, he is going to Junior High next year - we are all very nervous about it! The girls finished one season of soccer & have now started summer tournaments with another team, CB United. Jacy finally got into driver's ed (huge waiting list - they don't have driver's ed in the HS - THE COST IS 360.00!!!!) & is taking some make up classes for the week she will be at girls camp. She is SOOOOOOO excited to go get her permit (next week!) & start driving! We are not excited! Just another kid to pay insurance for!!! The boys finished baseball this week! WHEW! We are taking them to a barbecue tomorrow afternoon with all the teams & then watch a ML Pirates game. I just want to curl up in the fetal position & take a long summer nap!
The YW girls camp (yes, I am the leader) car wash fundraiser is tomorrow & the HS girls soccer car wash is next Sat. Again, what day is it? Where am I? How do you say NO? Fun times, but a vacation is calling my name! Cannot wait to see everyone in Sun Valley & RELAX by the pool! Take long relaxing hikes! & SLEEP! Lisa

The Spoiled Under 30 Crowd!

Unknown Author -
When I was a kid, adults used to bore me to tears with their tedious diatribes about how hard things were when they were growing up; what with walking twenty five miles to school every morning . . . uphill BOTH ways .. yadda, yadda, yadda
And I remember promising myself that when I grew up, there was no way I was going to lay a bunch of crap like that on our kids about how hard I had it and how easy they've got it! But now that . . . I'm over the ripe old age of thirty, I can't help but look around and notice the youth of today. You've got it so easy! I Mean, compared to my childhood, you brats live in Utopia! And I hate to say it but you kids today you don't know how good you've got it!
I mean, when I was a kid we didn't have THE INTERNET. If we wanted to know something, we had to go to the library and look it up ourselves, in the card catalog!!
There was no e-mail! We had to actually write somebody a letter... with a pen! Then you had to walk all the way across the street and put it in the mailbox and it would take like a week to get there!
There were no MP3's or Napsters! You wanted to steal music, you had to go to the record store and shoplift it yourself! Or you had to wait around all day to tape it off the radio and the DJ'd usually talk over the beginning and mess it up!
We didn't have fancy crap like Call Waiting! If you were on the phone and somebody else called they got a busy signal, that's it!!
And we didn't have fancy Caller ID Boxes either! When the phone rang, you had no idea who it was! It could be your school, your mom, your boss, a collections agent, you just didn't know!!
You had to pick it up and take your chances, mister!
We didn't have any fancy Sony Playstation video games with high-resolution 3-D graphics! We had Atari 2600! With games like "Space Invaders" and "Asteroids" and the graphics stunk! Your guy's were a little square! You actually had to use your imagination! And there were no multiple levels or screens, it was just one screen forever! And you could never win. The game just kept getting harder and harder and faster and faster until it died! .. Just like LIFE!
When you went to the movie theater there was no such thing as stadium seating! If a tall guy or some old broad with a hat sat in front of you and you couldn't see, you were screwed!
Sure, we had cable television, but back then that was only like 15 channels and there was no onscreen menu and no remote control! You had to use a little book called a TV Guide to find out what was on!
You were screwed when it came to channel surfing! You had to get off your bum and walk over to the TV to change the channel and there was no Cartoon Network either! You could only get cartoons on Sat. morning. Do you hear what I'm saying?!? We had to wait ALL WEEK for cartoons, you spoiled little brats!
And we didn't have microwaves, if we wanted to heat something up we had to use the stove or go build a frigging fire... imagine that! If we wanted popcorn, we had to use that stupid Jiffy Pop thing and shake it over the stove forever like an idiot!
That's exactly what I'm talking about! You kids today have got it too easy! You're spoiled. You guys wouldn't have lasted five minutes back in 1980!
Regards,
The Over 30 Crowd

I found this story in my files. Thought I would SHARE it!
I am so sick & tired of telling Kelcey "STOP texting - it is family time!"
Kelcey - "But mom I need to tell them 'hi, got to go, my mom's mad at me for texting!'"
Ughh!
LOVED THIS STORY!!! Lisa

Adorable Pictures of STEVE!

Thank you Gayla for sending me these pictures!

We love the Yellowstone picture (Dec. 30 1980) at Old Faithful Inn.
Steve keeps telling the kids stories about his younger sports years (all star teams, football, etc.) & they just roll their eyes at him. Now, he has proof! Look how cute he is!
He even held the bat just like Trevor does!
I am sure Steve will be very proud of my most recent blog! He loves to spin tales of his youth! Everyone at the motocycle store just looks at him & then they whisper to each other "I wasn't even born when he bought his first motorcycle!" - yes, we are both getting older!
Thanks again Gayla for the adorable pictures!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!

Happy Anniversary to my husband!

An anniversary is a time to celebrate the joys of today, the memories of yesterday, and the hopes of tomorrow.

Thank you for a very RELAXING weekend!

LOVE YOU! Lisa

Relay for Life. May 2008

We all went to the Relay for life. We got at the the track around 10:30 p.m. & the silent walk had just started. There were tents everywhere & lots of people. We started to walk around the track & count all of our blessings. Glowing - paper sacks lined the track & we just walked & thought of all the generations of people affected by cancer. It was a really special night.
Trevor fell asleep at the Wal Mart tent - he was laying in the grass with his head on my feet.

We decided to head home & put Trevor to bed.
The girls stayed at the walk until 2 a.m.
It was a really great night of honoring those who have passed & those who continue to survive & fight this disease.

Happy Anniversary!

Trent's first overnight scouting trip!

Trent has his first overnight scouting trip tonight. He was so adorable! Steve made him finish packing (he had to have his backpack checked off at scouts the other night!). He was missing his pillow, pj's, & some other minor items. Steve said that he needed to do it so he would learn how to pack. It was really hard for me just to stand by & let Steve & Trent pack! I just wanted to double, triple check his backpack & camping supply list! It was about killing me!

Bro. Bloxton & Trent will be coming over to Relay For Life at the High School around 10 p.m. & we are meeting them there to walk some miles to raise money. Trent is excited to get some free hot choc. at the track! Our family walked over 25 miles (all NIGHT!) last year! The kids loved it!

The kids found these nest & wanted to show Grandpa J. One is a Killdear bird & the other is a Robin's nest. The parents are very protective of the nest & I had to sneak in for a close up!

Kelcey has a bunch of her friends coming over tonight for a PARTY!! They wanted to play kickball & I discouraged her because I really enjoy my front windows intact! (there are boys coming!) Steve surprised me - which is rare! We are leaving tomorrow after Jacy gets off work & going to Tri-Cities for our anniversary. Staying in a nice hotel, shopping, golfing & relaxing in the pool - just the two of us! Steve - you are the best! Love you TONS! Happy Anniversary!
