Everyone & their cat, dog & hamster needs to drive through the Redwoods National Park. It is the most beautiful, stunning, awesome place. A camera cannot even begin to capture the utter silence, beauty & reverence of the magnificent trees! Standing next to them & looking up into the heavens just gives me a small glimpse of how tiny the human race is. So inspiring! Our original plan for our trip was to go into San Francisco & then round out the trip through Yosemite National Park - but that is the beauty of RV trips! We scratched San Francisco & Yosemite. The storm we were experiencing was dumping footfulls of snow in Yosemite & we did NOT want to drive the RV on slick roads. I am so thankful for inspiration & sooooo we turned around in CA & drove back up the coastline! Stopping everywhere & just enjoying being together on a fantastic trip. No rushing, no plans, no work, nothing, nada! Heavenly! We sure needed a nice relaxing trip. We even got over 500 dollars back for mileage on the RV because we didn't go all the way into San Francisco! So that is another trip to look forward to! I LOVE San Francisco!
The Redwoods National Park did not become a National Park until the mid 1960's so it is a lot different then some of the other national parks. There is no entrance fee & there are a lot of attractions that are privately owned. The drive thru trees are all privately owned & they all charge to drive thru them - well we didn't do that because the RV was a LITTLE big! There are a lot of tourist traps & everything is very expensive. After saving money left & right on the RV & campsites we were just having a blast stopping everywhere!

We LOVED seeing these signs everywhere & then we would go up a hill out of the Tsunami zone & then give a big sigh of relief! HA!
Trevor just passed off his folk lore section in his scouting book! Fun to see these after just talking about it.
It hailed, rained, snowed a little & then hailed some more. Trevor won't say hail. He calls it the "H Word" Cute little Trevor ever!

Brushing teeth in the rv - it was a blast sharing space & becoming a CLOSER family!! 
Here is the trusty RV - I was a little nervous about driving the RV down the coastal hwy on a two lane road, but Steve was a pro first day out. He did have a few moments of getting stuck in a parking lot when we first left the rental area, but became a top notch driving within hours of driving the beast - we named her Idamae! Good old Idamae was a great companion & friend

The storm that blew through the coastline created the most beautiful waves we had ever seen. They were magnificent & HUGE! There was a high wave warning & would bring into the beaches all sorts of really fun things. The glass bulbs that the fishermen use to hold their nets in place were showing up on beaches also. Loads of fun, really big shells & more! Beautiful!
